Native Mobile Apps

I can honestly see a time not so far in the future when people would be shocked by the knowledge that your business doesn't have an iPhone application. It happened to websites, didn't it? Today, a business that does not have a web presence is perceived as somehow lacking in the marketing department.

Apple 2010 stats show over 130,000 applications available for download in their App Store. And growing. App Store user's downloaded an average of 4.8 apps just last December, one quarter of which was paid for.

Google's Android is catching up too. Android Market tipped over 30,000 Android Apps but they are selling over 22M Android phones a year and being Android Google and all, you can expect a lot of interesting things to happen in the years to come.

So putting it quite frankly, native mobile apps are the hot stuff and they are here to stay.
